In early January 2002, Pastor Michael Nwamoh received a ministration from the Lord concerning “His people, who were literally scattered like sheep without a shepherd.” By spending time in prayers, seeking God’s guidance and sense of direction, he shared this revelation with elders and a few other brethren, who supported his vision. The Church originated as a Fellowship from a home basement. Through prayers, Bible study and commitment, this vision culminated in the birth of The Agape Christian Church, with a relatively few members. By God’s grace, the Church experienced a rapid growth over a short period of time before moving to Dr. Samuel Banks High School auditorium located at 2500 E. Northern Parkway in Baltimore, Maryland and was officially inaugurated on August 25, 2002.
The Church continues to grow and on April 24, 2005, the first set of Elders and Deaconesses were ordained. On August 3, 2005, God blessed the Church with its permanent building on 3007 E. Northern Parkway, Baltimore, MD 21214, which was officially occupied on November 5, 2006 after an extensive renovation. God’s master plan for the growth of the Church is visible throughout several established Ministries.God has used the Church to touch lives of many, hence the tag name “Miracle Center.”
